National Park Ambassadors

They maintain habitats, educate visitors, and preserve history. They're rangers, museum curators, engineers, volunteers, landscape architects, and fire fighters. They're the treasured stewards of our national parks. They're National Park Ambassadors.

Behind every national park is a team of ordinary people who are dedicated to maintaining the extraordinary. They may not wear capes, but they're heroes in our book. Meet the individuals who protect our parks and send thanks to an NPS employee or volunteer who made your last visit extra special.

Thank you, To all the Parks staff.I recently completed a two-month/6,600 mile road trip from Indiana to several of our magnificent National Parks (Wind Cave, Badlands, Theodore Roosevelt, Glacier, Grand Teton, and Great Sand Dunes). There were lots of other stops along the way (big thumbs up to Custer State Park, absolutely brilliant) and even a trip to Grasslands NP in Saskatchewan and Waterton Peace Park. America, the beautiful, indeed! Our National Park employees were *always* kind and attentive. Sorry--can't call out anyone in particular but everyone with whom I made contact was courteous and informed. Keep up the good work!! I see you and I appreciate you! Cheers from a grateful hiker/camper.

Thank you, everyone. To all the volunteers who give their time to keep the parks humming like a well oiled machine, that often sit in the background without much recognition, I send to you my heartfelt gratitude of a job well done. I envy those who get to spend their time in some of the most wonderous places on earth. I've visited sixteen national parks over the years usually returning to most of these same ones only to wish I would had went to a new destination. No regrets only fond memories. With all of your hard work and dedication I'm sure the future of our parks are in good hands. Thank you!

Thank you, Everyone who works at Joshua Tree.Thank you to all of you who work to keep this park as unspoiled and beautiful as it is. My visit there changed my life -- in a wonderful way. I had been through a terrible ordeal of caretaking my husband through his four years of cancer treatment and my mind was awash with grief and sadness and I just couldn't think thoughts that pertained to things outside my own head. Joshua Tree enabled me to open my eyes and look outward, beyond myself, and remember the bond I had always felt with nature but seemed to have lost. There was a primeval atmosphere that humbled me. There were wildflowers blooming that moved me to tears. There was quiet and a sanctity in the landscape that was profoundly calming. We couldn't have these beautiful, awe-inspiring experiences if it wasn't for you, who work to care for our wild spaces. Thank you!
