National Park Ambassadors

They maintain habitats, educate visitors, and preserve history. They're rangers, museum curators, engineers, volunteers, landscape architects, and fire fighters. They're the treasured stewards of our national parks. They're National Park Ambassadors.

Behind every national park is a team of ordinary people who are dedicated to maintaining the extraordinary. They may not wear capes, but they're heroes in our book. Meet the individuals who protect our parks and send thanks to an NPS employee or volunteer who made your last visit extra special.

Give Thanks

Thank you, Webcam Maintenance.I can seldom visit in person now, but every day or so I tune in to see how things are on Skyline (and often from the valley, and when i think of it, New River.) Thanks for letting me drop in for sunset without a six-hour drive. I can imagine this has been a very challenging year for maintenance, but you take care of it.

Thank you, Rangers and Staff.I am so proud of America's National Park System. I've traveled the world with my work and seen many other countries but none come to mind that match the tremendous wildness, scale, beauty and approachability of our splendid parks. We owe a deep debt of gratitude to the stewards and wardens of these great American legacies. Thank you, All !!

Thank you, To any ranger.I got injured by one of my students, and as a result, I have spent five years recovering from a traumatic brain injury. I became part of a scouting troop, and forest preserves became a sanctuary from all the loud sounds that triggered my PTSD. Hiking trails became a way to rebuild my endurance. I'm so grateful that places like these exist. They became a safe haven for healing. Thank you for providing such a wonderful resource.
