Horseback riding down to Kalaupapa National Park
Horseback riding down 1700ft to the Kalaupapa National Historical Park in Molokai to was an extraordinary experience! We were surrounded by the beauty of some of the highest sea cliffs in the world. Then at the Kalaupapa National Historical Park, we learned about how Father Damien helped the people affected by Leprosy. Highly recommend visiting this beautiful place in Molokai, Hawaii.
Half Dome minutes before the final ascent up the cables
After we (a family of 4, husband & our kids, ages 15 & 17) won the lottery to hike up to Half Dome, we were ecstatic! My husband & I have hiked up Half Dome before 18 years ago, but our kids always wanted to. We started early at 5 am and didn't return to Curry Village until 10pm. My husband's knees were not cooperating during the hike down. Luckily the kids made it down by 7:30pm and ordered our dinner before the Curry cafeteria closed!!!
It was an awesome accomplishment as it was also my husband's birthday!!
