Rangers and staff

As a devotee (OK, fanatic) about visiting as many of our unique National Parks as possible (now 343), I cannot begin to thank all those dedicated men and women who take care of us visitors and the parks the way they do. So many roles are needed to provide a safe and pleasant experience, and there are many challenges to meet; it is amazing what these guardians accomplish. Those of you who know this park can appreciate the strenuous climb to the top. I was about halfway up when three or four Rangers literally ran uphill past me carrying heavy packs. I found out why. An older hiker had collapsed, and oxygen, a stretcher, and other vital supplies were brought to their aid. The hiker did OK, thanks to these dedicated professionals. Thank you so much!
