I am always in awe at the work of the NP Ambassadors. Thank you all for being so knowledgeable and helpful. A great big thanks for doing all you do to protect our parks! I always look forward to speaking to an ambassador when I visit any NP.

Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, honors the first successful airplane flight, conducted by Wilbur and Orville Wright.

The Trail of Tears National Historic Trail ranges eight U.S. states and commemorates the survival of the Cherokee, who were forcefully removed from their land.

Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail expands four southern states and traces the Revolutionary War patriot militia route taken in 1780.


The Battle of Moores Creek Bridge was the catalyst for North Carolina's state independence. 12 additional states declared independence shortly thereafter.


Fought on March 15, 1781 the battle at Guilford Courthouse was the largest, most hotly-contested action of the Revolutionary War's climactic Southern Campaign.
