Instameet at Big Bend National Park

Monday, July 25, 2016

We’re going BIG and celebrating the National Park Service Centennial, Texas style, at Big Bend National Park on July 30 – 31. Hosted by Find Your Park premier sponsor Budweiser and the National Park Foundation, this statewide Instameet will bring IGers from across the great state of Texas to one of its iconic national parks for a fun-filled weekend.

Events will include special ranger-guided tours to some of the park’s most picturesque spots, a cookout packed with delicious Texas flavors, and an intimate concert featuring some incredible Texas talent.

Group sites P, Q, and R of Chisos Basin Campground have been reserved for this event from Friday, July 29 through Sunday, July 31. Event attendees are welcome to being arriving on the 29th and check-in will continue until early Saturday afternoon. Those arriving on Friday and Saturday morning will be free to explore the park on their own.

On Saturday afternoon, tours will set out to explore some can’t-miss vistas within Big Bend National Park before coming back to camp for a tasty Texas cookout. Attendees will be invited to wrap up the day by sitting back and enjoying the acoustic sounds of some wonderful local musicians.

Be sure to set your alarms for Sunday morning, as you won’t want to miss the golden hour here. Breakfast will then be served before attendees set back out for some more self-guided exploration of the park.

Interested in joining us for the celebration? Curious about what to bring for the campout or how to get there? Get in touch with your local IG communities (@IGDFW(link is external), @IGAustinTexas(link is external), and @IGhouston(link is external)) for planning and event details! Come #FindYourPark, o mejor dicho, #EncuentraTuParque, and #HikeBigBend during the #TexasHoldHerHigh Instameet!

Hope to see y’all there!
