This was a couple years back, I had about two hours to decompress on a three day drive from Illinois to Washington state. Always take by lifetime np pass with me and had never been to Theodore Roosevelt NP. After a leisurely look at the visitor center, I asked the on duty ranger what "about an hour long" hike she recommended to get a taste of the park. She had a favorite and spoke glowingly of how much I would enjoy the hike. So of course I took off on the recommended hike and it was everything and more than promised. I did thank the ranger for her recommendation but share this note here as a representative thank you to all the rangers and other park staff that I have asked to share their experience and enthusiasm for their park across the country over the years. They make the park experience everything that it is.
