Interpretive and Protective Ranger Force

Thank you for your dedication and service to the public. My father was in charge of the Wetherill Mesa Archeological Lab at the Park from 1959 to 1966, during Project '66. The rangers were key in helping visitors, both American and foreign, in understanding the culture and daily lives and work of the Anasazi people, who occupied the area from the 9th to the 13th centuries, when they disappeared, probably due to a 26-year long drought. The evening campfire talks were among my favorite activities there.
