Every ranger and ambassador we encountered at the Elkmont campground in August 2021 deserves our gratitude, but I would like to point out one in particular, whose name I unfortunately did not catch when he dropped by our site to unlock our electric box for medical use. We arrived in the middle of a monsoon, and this ranger allowed us to pitch our tent just outside the tent pad because the pad had flooded and was completely unusable. All I know is that he was an older gentleman who (eerily enough) was the spitting image of my grandfather -- like a guardian angel, he arrived when we needed guidance, and then mysteriously moved on after having extended us a simple kindness that made a huge difference in our (excellent) park experience. Thank you, whoever you are!
