Hike to Where the Fish Are
Hiking in Rocky is the best, obviously, but pack your fly rod everywhere you go. All the mountain lakes have an inlet and an outlet - aka prime fishing locations!! Some personal faves are Spruce Lake, the Roaring River, and Sprague Lake at dusk.
A Hike with a Waterfall & Swimming !
Since Old Rag is normally very packed in Shenandoah, my friends and I tried out Whiteoak Canyon instead. You can start at the bottom or the top of this one and follow a waterfall along the way. If it's warm enough you can even take a swim at the bottom!
Beware though, we started at the top and made our way down to start. Climbing those stairs coming back up with a killer workout! I don't know if starting with the climb would have been easier, but I do know that I sure got my leg workout in for the week!

Caught the sunrise in Yosemite!

Angling on the Snake River with the Tetons beyond.

Badwater Basin: the lowest point in North America!
Get in the Water at Harpers Ferry
Make time for some tubing or rafting at Harpers Ferry! There is plenty of history to check out, but you can get in the water too... There are a couple of places near the park that provide equipment, tours, shuttles, etc. For tubing experiences, you park your car in a designated place and they take you up river in a shuttle bus... you get in the water and float back to your start point. Great way to relax, cool off and have some fun with friends (once we can get back outside!)
For those who are looking for a little more adventure, you can do a rafting tour down through some of the rapids on the Potomac branch, a little upstream from the Park proper. Great fun !
