Maine

Darren Belskis

I cannot imagine my life without our national parks. I moved to Maine earlier this year and have had the pleasure of visiting Acadia several times Thank you for all you do!

Park ambassadors

Thank you so much for all that you do taking care of our national parks. If it wasnā€™t for the people who do this, we wouldnā€™t have them and there wouldnā€™t be species of animals and plants that are protectedā€¦āœļøā¤ļøšŸ‘šŸ‘šŸŖ“šŸŒ³šŸŒµšŸŒ“

Ambassadors

I donā€™t know a name, but I certainly appreciated and I enjoyed very much my trip up Cadillac Mountain Road this summer. Getting my name on the list was a problem and a challenge and climbing a lot of steps with a cane. However, it was worth every bit of it, and I and my friends truly enjoyed the view from the top. I sent the pictures I took to several friends, and also my sister, who commented ā€œoh, the porcupines are still there!ā€œ She used to go camping in Acadia with our uncle, aunt, and two cousins back in probably the 1950s, and she has such fond memories of those trips and visits.

Acadia Park Ranger

I don't know the name of the Ranger who was so kind to me, but I appreciate the assistance I received. We live about five miles from the mainland side of Acadia. One afternoon we were showing visitors the beauty of Schoodic Point when I found I had gotten myself into a pickle. I wear braces on my legs and had sent my friends out over the rocks to explore. Meanwhile, I found that I could go neither up nor down the small set of steps to the car park, I was literally stuck in the middle. A kindly Ranger saw my predicament and with good humor and a strong arm came to my rescue.

All Park Rangers

I always wanted to be a park ranger and still do! Thank you for all you do, from protecting our cherished natural resources, to stewarding our wildlife, to advocating to maintain and increase our wild lands, to teaching visitors to tread lightly, to maintaining trails, buildings, camp sites, roads and everything else, your efforts do not go unnoticed! We need our national parks more than we collectively know and you are key to that future. Thank you!
