National Park Ambassadors

They maintain habitats, educate visitors, and preserve history. They're rangers, museum curators, engineers, volunteers, landscape architects, and fire fighters. They're the treasured stewards of our national parks. They're National Park Ambassadors.

Behind every national park is a team of ordinary people who are dedicated to maintaining the extraordinary. They may not wear capes, but they're heroes in our book. Meet the individuals who protect our parks and send thanks to an NPS employee or volunteer who made your last visit extra special.

Thank you, Floy (Volunteer).Hi Floy, We visited the Fort Davis National Historic Site on 5 October 2024. It was a busy morning for you, but you took time to explain everything to all who came in. We were the first in a large group, but I overheard you giving the same details, explanations, recommendations, and advice to those who came after us. We enjoyed the movie very much and were especially impressed by the ending message. We've already recommended a visit to the Fort Davis NHS to our family and friends. We live in Austin, so we don't get to Fort Davis often; but we hope to see you again. --Thank you, Claire Wilda

Thank you, Glenn & Michelle Florance. We were at the trailhead at Horseshoe Canyon when Glenn & Michelle approached us in their Ranger uniforms and wanted to know if we had any questions. They joined us on our hike down into canyon explaining details about the canyon and pointing out the various rock art that we probably would have just walked by. They explained to us how they were volunteers Rangers from Poketello, I’d who have been coming to this park for 2 weeks for a few years. They made our hike truly memorable. Their knowledge and friendliness really helped to make this hike one we’ll never forget . Also I have a photo of them I’d like to share, but this format wouldn’t let me.

Thank you, To All Rangers. For everyone who gets a few seconds in their day to read this note, I hope that you can feel appreciated by the thousands you serve annually, the large caravans, the small family units, and the lone hiker, you make our parks the ultimate destination and the lasting memories we all cherish possible.

Thank you, All the rangers.Thank you to all the Rangers, at Zion and across the country, for all your work. You are much appreciated ! But in particular, I wish to thank the ranger (I don’t know her name, unfortunately) who gave encouragement as this Midwesterner was hiking up Walter’s Wiggles. She brought a smile to my face even as I was panting and slowly making my way up! Thank you!
