Behind every national park is a team of ordinary people who are dedicated to maintaining the extraordinary. They may not wear capes, but they're heroes in our book. Meet the individuals who protect our parks and send thanks to an NPS employee or volunteer who made your last visit extra special.

National Park Ambassadors
They maintain habitats, educate visitors, and preserve history. They're rangers, museum curators, engineers, volunteers, landscape architects, and fire fighters. They're the treasured stewards of our national parks. They're National Park Ambassadors.

Thank you, info desk staffer at Grant Grove Village Visitor Center.Thank you so much for helping me get information about obtaining a backcountry permit and information about the area where I ended up going, Granite Lake basin. It was a really incredible place and well worth the 4000 + ft vertical gain to reach it. I also appreciate your tracking of fire information when I stopped back in at the Visitor Center after my backpack trip and told you about the fresh new smoke plume visible from Panorama Point along Park Ridge. My visit to Sequoia and Kings Canyon NPs went quite well after the hiccup in getting to California on account of a haz materials spill along the railroad line that blocked my Coast Starlight train from reaching California. Very impressed with Kings Canyon-- scenery like Yosemite and much smaller crowds.

Thank you, Ranger Carol. My family and I want to extend a sincere thank you to Ranger Carol. We had the most wonderful experience meeting her at RMNP in September. She was so informative and helpful. I wanted her to know that she made quite the impact on my 7 year old daughter who wants to be a park ranger someday. Carol swore both of my girls in as Junior Rangers, invited them to raise the flag, and made them feel like they were a special part of the park. We will never forget her or our wonderful time at RMNP. Thank you, Carol. I have a little girl with autism who felt confident in her ability to become someone great because of the time you spent with her. You're kind and thoughtful, and you make the park and the world a better place.

Thank you, The Whole Team.Thank you to everyone who made our rainy and exciting early spring trip to Muir Woods absolutely breathtaking last May! With a slight increase in some free/travel time, we recently began cultivating a love for our Nation's wonder National Parks and have been absolutely astounded at the friendliness, insightfulness, and enthusiasm that all of the NPS Rangers, Ambassadors, and other NPS employees have demonstrated towards us during these early months of many adventures to come! We look forward to our continued journeys, but are so thankful that we are able to say that Muir Woods was our very first and fantastic experience. Thanks again!
